It's tough for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

We're talking about the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

It needed up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the bowlers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It is hard for their hitters to possess a record if never given the possibility.

Ultimately, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy being given a platform to produce her newest gem.

Many contend the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was much more difficult to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this innings followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it was a challenging time because it appeared I lacked timing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your competitive nature take over and you completely engage with the competition."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and after that the right-hander was in motion.

"A chance to go out there and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was removed her side required another 66 at one run per ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm happy we have the confidence to do that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if necessary, we are confident we can achieve it."

These statements will be the final thing rival teams at this World Cup should hear.

During the last week a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this victory following victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they left last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she wished she had played through the pain.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have delayed plans to retire, this World Cup is expected to be her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as captain.
